Lorraine Campet is a soloist with the Orchestre de l’Opéra de Paris and one of the leading figures on the double bass, having been named ‘Révélation 2025’ at the Victoires de la musique awards.
As a chamber musician, she has recorded her first album with pianist Nathanaël Gouin, her long-time accomplice, in the vein of Germanic Romanticism. Under the deep, warm timbre of the double bass, Schubert’s Arpeggione and Schumann’s Fantasiestücke, formidable in their virtuosity, as well as Beethoven’s Variations on The Magic Flute, are revealed in a new light. The splendid Lieder by Josephine Lang, a little-known composer and friend of the Schumanns, are the jewels of this intimate, passionate recording. 01 – Liederbuch, Vol. 2 _ No. 5, Wie glanzt so hell dein Auge |
