A sharp commercial sense, rare entrepreneurial qualities, a taste for off-the-beaten-track repertoire and an atypical musical background… Sir Thomas Beecham was certainly an inimitable personality! This recital of orchestral pieces, most of them previously unreleased in digital format, takes us from Delius to Grieg, via Sibelius and Rossini. Completely remastered in high resolution, it also includes some rare extracts from Amaryllis, one of the suites Beecham liked to compose after extracts of Handel’s works.
